The student newspaper is The California Aggie. While technically a part of the student government, it is overseen by the Media Board, which is a board of students appointed by the UCD Administration. KDVS is the student-run radio station. It operates 24/7 with freeform programming which ranges from political talk to unknown reggae artists. KDVS is also overseen by the Media Board, but unlike the financially independent newspaper it receives over $50,000 in subsidy from the student government.

The student government directly operates AGTV, though it does not produce much programming due to low funding.

The university also operates its own mouthpiece, Dateline UC Davis.
